The site is very early in the development processes for gathering pictures from "campers" of the Mark Messier Leadership Camp, we're looking to get pictures and movies from people who attended the 2006 Messier Camp in Greenburg NY and NYC that took place March 3rd to 7th. Please send your pictures from the camp to Jamie Howard (jth@jthdevelopment.org) or Eric Budke (budke@budke.com). (Or email us to figure out other ways of getting hold of them. We've come across a service at www.yousendit.com that allows you to upload a zip file and generate an email message to us to pick it up. We've found this is useful for avoiding mailbox limits). Of course if it is easier for you to drop it to a disc, that's fine too.
Please don't construe this site as anything official by the New York Rangers or Messier, this is just a compilation by the guys who were there.
As of 3/28 we put a username and password on the pictures area of the site. This was sent out to the email addresses of attendees, if you didn't have happen to get it, please email Jamie Howard (email above) to have one sent to you.
Through links on the left are pictures we have as of 4/23. Feel free to send any comments about the site or complaints to budke@budke.com and I'll try my best to accomodate them.
Lastly the site has moved to www.mlchockey.com the messiercamp.com address will probably go to the Messier's and currently provides a link to the Steiner Sports site.
When browsing through OLN's website the following was found (includes additional showtimes for the Messier Camp and retirement shows):
Mark
Messier
Leadership Camp: Ever dream of playing baseball with Ted Williams? Or Football
with Joe Montana? How about basketball with Magic Johnson? Well, 35 campers
got to live out their ultimate hockey fantasy at "The Mark Messier
Leadership Camp." Mark, along with former greats Mike Richter, Stephane
Matteau, Glenn Anderson and Adam Graves showed these 35 the time of their
lives on and off the ice as they competed for the first annual "Captain's
Cup." But more than simply a fantasy camp, "The Mark Messier
Leadership Camp," was geared towards imparting the life lessons Mark
has learned over the years both on the ice and in the dressing room. Mark
reveals some of the secrets that made him one of the great leaders in all
of sport and how each person attending could apply these lessons in their
own life, both at work and at home. This combination of on-ice fantasy
and off-ice guidance made the camp an experience no one will ever forget. Showtimes
on OLN are/were 4/21@5p, 4/25@6p, and possibly 5/26@11p. I've got it Tivo'd
from the 4/21 showing, I'll speak to the Messier's about putting it up
also, but I imagine it may require some discussions with OLN or NHL productions.
Raised to the Rafters: The show is an all-access, behind-the-scenes look at the events leading up to and including Mark Messier's retirement ceremony at Madison Square Garden. Sit down interview in penthouse suite, press conference at MSG, and small gathering at one of his favorite bars the day before the ceremony. The day of, riding down with Messier on his way down to the ceremony and the fan fest that surrounded the event.
